Rafał Gościmiński, Poland
Finalist 2025
My name is Rafal Gosciminski, and I am a Polish composer for films. From a young age, I’ve been deeply fascinated by various forms of art, including films, games, and especially music. What started as an early interest in electronic sounds evolved into a passion for the powerful tones of orchestral compositions found in films and game soundtracks. Thanks to modern technology, including high-quality samples, synthesizers, and advanced production tools, I’m able to craft realistic orchestral compositions as well as hybrid and electronic music. I work across a wide range of styles, from action and drama to horror, romance, and comedy. My approach allows me to bring a unique and versatile sound to every project, and I always strive to create music that complements the narrative and emotional tone of the story.

Sébastien Lienart, Belgium
Finalist 2025
Sébastien Lienart, born in 1972, is one of the most accomplished Belgian pianists of his generation. He began playing the piano at the age of seven at the Mouscron Music Academy and quickly gained recognition, winning the “Gunther” Competition (Brussels) and the “Prix des Jeunes” (Verviers). He continued his musical training at the Royal Conservatory of Brussels, where he earned a Master’s degree in Piano Performance with highest honors under Eugène Moguilevski. He later refined his skills with him at the Queen Elisabeth Music Chapel. He also demonstrated his talent as a chamber musician by obtaining, again with highest honors, a Master’s degree in Chamber Music under André Siwy. In addition to his piano studies, he developed a strong interest in music theory, earning First Prizes in Counterpoint and Fugue.
In February 1995, he won the “Claire Hennes de Were Prize” in Brussels, and in September 1998, he was awarded First Prize at the International Lions Music Performance Competition in Budapest.

He then joined the prestigious Trio Carlo Van Neste, with which he regularly performed in Belgium (Bozar, Flagey) as well as internationally (France, Portugal, the Netherlands, Russia, Japan). Alongside guest pianists Karin Lechner and Sergio Tiempo, the Trio Carlo Van Neste recorded some of the most moving works by Argentine composer Astor Piazzolla. Their album, Tangología, was initially released under the prestigious EMI Classics label, where it was named “Album of the Month” and became the best-selling classical record of the year 2000. Six years later, it was reissued by the renowned Belgian classical music label PAVANE Records. In 2008, under the same label, the trio recorded an album dedicated to Czech music, featuring Antonín Dvořák’s Trio Op. 90 (Dumky) and Bedřich Smetana’s Trio Op. 15. Two years later, the trio released another album, this time focusing on German music, featuring Ludwig van Beethoven’s Trio Op. 70 and Johannes Brahms’ Trio Op. 8. In 2011, still as part of the Trio Carlo Van Neste, he recorded a collection of Astor Piazzolla’s tangos, including several previously unpublished pieces. For several years now, Sébastien Lienart has divided his time between composition and piano teaching. Passionate about computer-assisted music (MAO), he has been
particularly exploring music for visual media. In March 2025, his piece Lueurs de Blues for solo cello will be released on an album celebrating two centuries of Belgian music.

Alessio Di Meco, Italy
Finalist 2025
From an early age, I developed a passion for music by playing the “Dubbotte”, a traditional folk instrument from central Italy, while also studying harmony on the piano. Drums soon became my primary instrument and, my interest in music production—including electronic music—led me to explore both guitar and bass.
Over time, I have worked as a producer for artists exploring various genres, from rock and pop to country, EDM, and blues. However, it was film scoring that allowed me to fully express my artistic vision, inspiring me to develop an experimental approach to sound design. At the moment, I’m focusing on crafting unique sonic textures by transforming real-world sounds into expressive musical elements, bringing emotions to life and giving characters their own musical identity.
